The Apprentice Series 3 - Episode 6

"C'est Bordélique!"
The task this week was to sell English produce at a farmer's market in Arras in Northern France.
Opinion
This is one of those tasks which, on first sight, looks extremely easy but there are so many opportunities to go wrong. Clearly the French are food connoisseurs compared with their British counter parts and are not known for their receptive view to non-French cuisines, so the teams had their work cut out from the outset.
The right approach was obvious to the viewer as being high quality traditional English products that aren't in direct competition with French products. So, marmalade, chutneys, sausages, smoked fish and the like are in, and cheese, tea, etc. are out. That said, there is this strange inane panic that sets in when you are under pressure which is so hard to understand unless you are in it but accounts for very strange cheese shaped decisions.
Still, wasn't the episode hilarious? The highlights for me in priority order:
- Kristina outing Paul and Katie's relationship. Nice one girl someone had to mention it, it was certainly putting the rest of us off our food (French or otherwise)
- Lohit and Simon having a little slumber party. Ah bless they would make such a lovely couple.
- Tre was just Tres Bien (sorry I couldn't resist) all episode again: how do I find myself liking this man when he is clearly out of order with so many of his comments - could it be because he is one of the few people left who is actually being themselves?
| The Boardroom: |
I loved the pre-boardroom stuff when Paul was so convinced that it was Adam's time to go when clearly Paul's leadership was shambolic in every way. Sir Alan was so right to get rid of Paul in my opinion: I am not sure the man could be any more annoying, although I do find his accent strangely appealing, which is slightly messed up as I hate my own accent.

| Paul Callaghan: |
What shocked me most was that, given that he has had time to think about his firing from the show before doing the 'You're Fired', he hadn't taken on board that it was clearly all his fault and was totally graceless about the whole thing. Plus, where were his family and friends making comments about him - should we surmise he doesn't have any (or perhaps any, anymore)? Oh dear, I'm looking like a bitch now!
|
| Katie Hopkins: |
Following up from my comments last week., all I can say is OH MY GOD! If the number and contents of the texts I got last night about her is indicative, she is clearly going to be pretty famous after this but for being a completely stuck-up, sociopathic idiot!
|
| Kristina Grimes: |
Clearly Kristina was only in the boardroom because Paul has been struck by the arrow of Eros and couldn't do that to his little honey bunny friend Katie. Still it was fantastic to see her fight. Kristina made sensible comments all the way through the task and still remains one of my favourite people in there: she just is what she is, says it how it is and is totally down to earth. No wonder she didn't get on with Paul!

| Tre Azam: |
I am really loving the way the production made us hate him to begin with and slowly we are beginning to love him again. Notwithstanding the comment about 'it must be the time of the month', he so tells it how it is and you can't help wanting to buy him a beer. Lets hope he stays in and has to work with Jadine and Naomi more!
|
| Adam Hosker: |
When I saw Adam in the banner shop I realised that it was SO right that I got fired in week 4. Clearly the right decision would have been to 'leave it' when they were given the option of take it or leave it, but there is probably no way I could do that as I am such a soft touch. Adam did mess up on the banner but they still would have come in at a loss of 60 pounds without the banner so clearly this overall mistake wasn't his. My friend Adam was so articulate in the boardroom that I was really proud of him! My partner still thinks he would be the best laugh to go for a beer with out of all the boys!

| Lohit Kalburgi: |
At last we are beginning to see more of Lohit and hopefully now the nation is getting to see how great he is. I thought he was very gracious in excepting responsibility for any possible purchasing problems and cleverly smoothed over many possible fallings out in the team, which we know is not easy with Tre and Jadine in your team. Nice one Lohit, good luck!
