Send in the Clowns (BBC Archive)

"Startup Fever"

Face Painting: The saddest clown: After much 'clowning around' (sorry!) about doing Car Washing, someone cleverly asked 'Where are we going to get the water from?' and so we quickly changed tack. The mistake we made wasn't in the choice of face painting or the locations it was just that when Gerri found a location, for legal reasons, a lot of places would not let us film and so we had to move on.

Some of the funnier moments were cut - including me accidentally pouring a whole pot of glitter in Ghazal's face which had us falling about for a long time.

I think I agree with some of the comments made: the clown face was absolutely terrifying! No wonder I reduced one poor boy to tears but, then again, why break the habit of lifetime!

Kissograms
& Feminism:
So, clearly, I was against this whole idea! In fact I wanted to do a Speed Dating event that we could advertise throughout the day but this idea was abandoned. I am with SAS on this one, it is a little bit too close to the 'oldest profession in the book' for my liking. It is amazing that, when I asked Kristina if she was a feminist, it was as if I had accused her of being a rapist! That said, I am happy that I have brought the word 'feminism' back to primetime and hopefully we can re-claim this word! I am a feminist in the true sense of the word: i.e. I am not a man-hater but I do believe in equal opportunities and I am pretty sure we aren't there yet.

Just to be clear: the only people that stepped up to do this kissing were Natalie and Kristina, in fact Naomi refused even though she made the choice. It could be argued that some of the kissing was done with a little too much relish for my liking.

Gerri Blackwood: Gerri was absolutely fabulous (check out her website) throughout all the tasks and I am a big believer that she should not have been fired in this episode. I strongly dispute the fact that she is a slow starter: in fact, I think she is one of a handful of contestants who step up to the plate to be counted rather than leaving the responsibility to others. I hope to remain friends with Gerri when I get out of here!

Jadine Johnson: Jadine is actually an incredible face painter! I don't think even she realised she had this hidden talent. She was obviously frustrated by the lack of strong leadership but, unfortunately, even I was drawn into her bitching on occasions.

Naomi Lay: Naomi is a very pretty girl and will go far. I understand why she was a little passive during her first boardroom: sometimes when everyone is talking at once it is like 'white noise' and she is probably not used to having to shout over people to be heard. She will be a good project manager with more experience and a less feisty group.

Lohit Kalburgi: I have to say that it was really unfair that they have accused poor Lohit of not being visible during the first three episodes. In actuality he is a doer rather than a talker which makes less interesting TV. Whilst the boys team were bickering he would be getting on and doing the job.
